Happy New Year to all! I still can't believer that a new year has started... Something about this holiday season just made it seem almost surreal, and it all just flew by so quickly. I wan November back! :) This year, if there's a resolution I want it's to take a step back and breathe. Don't let myself get so caught up in the stresses of everyday life and try to appreciate the time as it passes. Things will be crazy hectic around here I am feeling in the next few months, so I will constantly need to remind myself of this need. Breathe! Slow Down!

Changes and Gratitude

within a couple of days!! I am always amazed at how incredibly blessed we are! We were in California for a vacation last week. Lots of fun! The first photo was taken on Huntington Beach, the second in our backyard. :)
We are looking at some huge changes for us within the next couple of months! It's not all finalized, but we may be making a move... scary, exciting, and fun...
I made a few changes to my blog as well. Do you like how it looks? I may also be making several changes to my etsy shop after the new year begins, starting with closing down my shop on December 11th for a little while. Front Page Celebration
Being on the front page of etsy is always a reason to celebrate! I don't have a whole lot of time to create and respond to treasuries, so getting included in them seems to be a crap shoot... But this wonderful front page, in which my Basket Weave Band was included was created by one of Etsy's staff:

New Spinner Styles
Happy New Year to everyone!!
Busy times in the past month or so around the etsy shop ! It is only my second holiday season on-line, and it blew me away! Thanks to all of my wonderful customers and loyal fans!
As most people who have read my blog in the past know, I am a huge fan of Ali Edwards. Even though I don't have a whole lot of time to scrapbook anymore, I still try to find time to stop by her blog occasionally to get inspiration. She is one of the people who started the whole idea a few years back to choose a word of the year to focus on. See her post for this year's word here: One Little Word . I have loved this idea. Last year, my word for the year was "Strength".
This year, the word I have chosen is "Be". There are so many reasons why I chose this for my word. The first is that I want to become who I am meant to be. Also, be can mean so many things. Be yourself, be positive, be happy, be healthy... on and on. The main things I want to "Be" are HAPPY, HEALTHY, and PRESENT. In order to remind myself of these things, I created a resolution ring to wear. It is a new spinner style, and I just love it!
I set a ruby cabochon in my ring, for contentment and peace. I hope to make this style of spinner available in my shop in the next day or so.
As far as what I am doing to visualize and take action toward my one little word, I have started exercising and trying to eat more healthy foods. I am also making a point to stop each day and take a deep breath and focus on the things that make my life wonderful. It's so easy to go through life day by day being stressed and worried and wondering when it will all slow down and get better. But if we stop and take the time to recognize it, life is better right now. I have so many things to be happy about and be thankful for. All I have to do is be present in the moment, and realize it.
I loved the idea of having gemstones set into the inner band of a spinner ring so much, that I had to create another spinner style.
This style has three gemstones (in this case Sleeping Beauty Turquoise) set around the outer band. This ring is so fun! I am planning to make this style of ring available soon as well.

WOW!
It's been a while!!
Quick note to try to catch up on my blog... maybe I should just let it go but I realize there are still a "few" people who check on here every once in a while. And, I learned a couple of days ago that my blog was featured on a jewelry making website. So, maybe I should post something at least.
Lets see...
Over the past few months, we've had baseball season (both Aidan and Holden), Golf (Aidan), and Football season (Aidan) which is almost over. The team is in the playoffs right now. Next Saturday will be the semi-finals, and then the finals here in Farmington the week after. Go BRONCOS!
We went to San Diego again for Spring Break~ my that's forever ago. We had an awesome time, and some great friends of ours went as well. We shared and incredible beach house that everyone loved! Can't remember any other major vacations over the past few months though...
David started a different job. That's been a lot more time consuming for him, which leaves us at home without him much more. He hasn't been traveling as much as he was before, but it's still so tough not having him home as much. He wanted a challenge, and he definitely got it!
Holden turned 5 in April.
Back to school brought the first day of Kindergarten and the first day of Middle School. UGH! That was tough for me. Can't believe I have a middle school child.
Aidan turned 11 in September.
I'm still working half-time. Job-sharing with a great lady. But, I am struggling to get things accomplished since going back to work.
The usual mix of sickness for everyone, especially lately. Fall always seems to bring illness around here. If it's not sinus infection, its strep throat, and recently the flu made it's rounds in our house~ just recovering from it here.
And, through it all there's been jewelry making. Lots of jewelry making! It's an ever evolving process, and I am learning throughout it. I've even begun working more with gold recently, which is fun! Here is a custom order that I made a couple of months ago for a mother's ring set with ruby, aquamarine, topaz, and white gold
It was a challenge working with white gold, but I love the way that these rings turned out! The couple who I made them for love them as well~ which makes me so happy!

1000 Hearts
Wow~ I never thought my shop would get here... This morning, I reached over 1000 hearts mark. Doesn't mean a whole lot, other than people seem to like my stuff ;)
